The Erie Middle School Robotics Club’s mission is to equip a community of students passionate about science and technology with the skills and initiative to become the next generation of leaders and create positive change in their future career fields. In addition to learning valuable engineering skills, students gain life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, communication, collaboration, project management, and critical thinking. The VEX Robotics Competition prepares students to become future innovators with 95% of participants reporting an increased interest in STEM subject areas and pursuing STEM-related careers.

When, Where, Who, and How?
The Erie Middle School robotics club meets on Mondays and Wednesdays every week at Erie Middle School. Many teams also schedule additional practices.
Each team participates in at least three tournaments per season and possibly qualifies for post-season events. Tournaments are usually on Saturdays, lasting for most of the day.
Being a member of the Erie Middle School VEX Robotics club requires a high level of commitment from team members and their families. Students must be self-motivated, requiring minimal redirections from coaches and mentors to remain focused and on task. Strict rules of conduct will be followed regarding safety, teamwork, respect for others and property, time on task, attendance, and sportsmanship. This is a supportive environment where mentors, parents, and students all contribute to running a program that promotes Erie Tiger values while having fun learning together.
